JSCA invites to the Regional Meeting: Advances and Challenges of Civil Justice Reforms in the Americas

The Justice Studies Center of the Americas (JSCA), in partnership with the Judicial Branch of Peru, announces the “Regional Meeting: Progress and Challenges of Civil Justice Reforms in the Americas” organized with the purpose of establishing the state of progress, achievements and challenges at the regional level in civil justice reforms, highlighting the experiences of different countries of the Americas in the regulatory field and in the processes of implementation and evaluation of the aforementioned reforms.

This event will be held on August 22 and 23, 2022, under a hybrid modality: in person in the city of Lima, Peru, and online: live transmission. Upon registration, it will be possible to participate in person or access the live transmission. The event is free of charge and there is limited capacity to participate in person.

This event is organized in the framework of the Project “Improving Access to Civil Justice in Latin America”, implemented with the support of Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and is directed to

justice operators, managers of public institutions linked to the justice sector, litigation lawyers, academics, civil society organizations and the legal community in general.

The Justice Studies Center of the Americas (JSCA) is an inter-governmental agency with technical and operational autonomy that was established by resolution of the General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS) in fulfillment of the mandates of the Plan of Action of the Second Americas Summit (Santiago, April 1998) and the recommendations adopted during the Meetings of Ministers of Justice or Other Ministers , Prosecutors, and Attorneys General of the Americas (REMJA).

JSCA provides technical assistance to governments, judicial branches, public prosecution services, and other justice institutions; develops technical studies and generates empirical evidence; facilitates the exchange of information and best practices at the regional level; and provides specialized training to justice sector operators and public policymakers in the countries of the Americas.
