The areas of work established under the agreement include the selection and appointment of judges, judicial ethics, restorative justice, and the incorporation of technology to modernize justice systems—all priority challenges for countries across the Americas.
In addition to strengthening academic research and knowledge production, the agreement will provide training opportunities for LLM UC students, who will be able to complete their graduation seminars through internships at CEJA. The two institutions will also develop academic activities, seminars, and other initiatives of mutual interest that contribute to the exchange of knowledge and good practices.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dean of the Faculty of Law UC Gabriel Bocksang; LLM UC Director Juan Ignacio Piña; Program Academic Secretary Andrés Valenzuela; Graduate School Director Carlos Amunátegui; Director and Deputy Director of the UC Justice Reform Program José Pedro Silva and Nicolás Frías, respectively; professors Alberto Vergara and Gonzalo Fernández; and a CEJA delegation led by its Executive Director, Aguilar.
