
Ana Aguilar is a lawyer graduated from the Escuela Libre de Derecho of Mexico and holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights from Central European University (Budapest). She has a specialization in constitutional law and the protection of human rights from the University of Pisa (Italy) and is a PhD candidate in Social and Political Sciences at Universidad Iberoamericana. She also holds certification in criminal procedural reform and the adversarial system, as well as training in gender perspective, criminal analysis, and anti–money laundering prevention.
She has extensive experience in the implementation and consolidation of the adversarial criminal justice system in Mexico and other Latin American countries, including research on effective criminal defense, juvenile criminal justice, and international cooperation projects aimed at institutional strengthening.
CEJA also expresses its appreciation to Nataly Ponce, who served as Executive Director during the 2022–2025 period, highlighting her commitment to the institution and the achievements attained in strengthening and enhancing the Center’s regional positioning.
With the appointment of Ana Aguilar, CEJA continues the leadership of women at the helm of the institution, following the term of Nataly Ponce.
