The Justice Studies Center of the Americas (JSCA) announces the formulation of its 2022-2025 Strategic Plan through a broad participatory process directed at identifying the main needs and priority topics of the justice systems of the countries of the Americas and, in that context, the role that JSCA will play in the coming years to strengthen justice in the hemisphere.

JSCA invites governments, justice system institutions, civil society organizations, the academic sector, and other interested stakeholders to participate in the Virtual Consultation in the context of the design of its 2022-2025 Strategic Plan.

What is JSCA’s new 2022-2025 Strategic Plan?

JSCA’s new 2022-2025 Strategic Plan is the main management tool that will guide the Center’s institutional work in the coming years. Based on a deep understanding of the status and main needs of the justice systems of the Americas, this tool will establish the institution’s mission, vision, values, priority topics, lines of action, and expected results and impact.

What does the participatory process for JSCA’s 2022-2025 Strategic Plan consist of?
JSCA will create its strategic plan through a participatory process that is open to the various institutions and key stakeholders related to justice administration in the Americas, such as the region’s governments, justice system institutions, civil society organizations, and academic sector. The Center will use three main tools to receive contributions:

  • Virtual consultation: Open to anyone who wishes to contribute to building JSCA’s new Strategic Plan. We will focus on judicial branch operators, ministries of justice, public prosecution services, public defender’s offices, prison institutions, police agencies, civil society organizations, university and academic institutions, litigators, and others.
  • Virtual discussions: Organized to receive contributions from justice system officials, civil society organization representatives, and members of the JSCA Alumni Network.
  • Interviews with experts from the Americas: We will hold discussions with renowned professionals based on their experience with issues related to justice in the Americas.

JSCA’s 2022-2025 Strategic Plan will cover the various realities of the countries of the Americas, adopting a sub-regional approach.
