Ana Aguilar is a lawyer graduated from the Escuela Libre de Derecho of Mexico and holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights from Central European University (Budapest). She has a specialization in constitutional law and the protection of human rights from the University of Pisa (Italy) and is a PhD candidate in Social and Political Sciences at Universidad Iberoamericana. She also holds certifications in criminal procedural reform and the adversarial system, as well as training in gender perspective, criminal analysis, and anti–money laundering prevention.

Throughout her career, she has developed extensive experience in the implementation and consolidation of the adversarial criminal justice system in Mexico and other Latin American countries, participating in research on effective criminal defense, juvenile criminal justice, and international cooperation projects aimed at institutional strengthening.
