Each year, CEJA consolidates key advances in justice: from implementing procedural reforms in more than 30 countries to training more than 5,000 judicial officers. 2025
- Design of the Collaborative Roadmap between CEJA and the OAS , aimed at strengthening inter-institutional cooperation in the hemisphere.
- Studies: I Judicial Congestion Index in the Americas 2025 and Indicators to Evaluate Judicial and Public Prosecutor’s Independence in the Americas .
- Study: Redesigning Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms: CEJA’s Proposals for New Public Policies in Latin America and the Caribbean , in partnership with IDRC Canada.
- New regional training program: Artificial Intelligence and Justice Systems: Ethical Perspectives, Experiences and Legal Regulation .
- New regional training program: Following the Money Against Corruption , in partnership with the German Federal Foreign Office.
- The institutional website has been redesigned to be more user-friendly, modern, and accessible. It incorporates 26 years of experience and includes detailed information for each state.
- Bruno Novoa (Peru) assumes the Presidency of the Board of Directors.
2024
- Official recognition of CEJA by the OAS through Resolution AG/RES. 3029 (LIV-O/24) , which commemorates its 25th anniversary and highlights its hemispheric contribution to justice.
- CEJA reaches an unprecedented figure in regional training, with more than 3,000 professionals trained from the justice and civil society sectors in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Study: Ways to resolve civil and family conflicts and their effectiveness in Colombia and Peru , in partnership with IDRC Canada.
- Strengthening cooperation with Mexico, with training programs for the judicial branches of Mexico City, Querétaro and Nayarit.
- International Seminar: Conflict Resolution Mechanisms: Dialogues for a new regional agenda , held in Colombia, with the participation of 11 countries.
- Participation in the 54th OAS General Assembly (Paraguay), with four parallel events on gender, freedom of association, organized crime and access to justice.
2023
- Regional study: Independence of justice operators in the Americas: regional situation and challenges for democratic defense , presented in Washington, DC
- Training for more than 1,500 professionals from 14 countries in the region on topics of judicial management, gender, civil and criminal justice.
- Project launch: Ways to resolve civil and family conflicts and their effectiveness in Colombia and Peru , in partnership with IDRC Canada.
- Technical assistance for the design of the Criminal Policy for Criminal Prosecution of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Chile.
- Modernization and relaunch of the CEJACampus virtual training platform .
- For the first time, CEJA is participating in the OAS General Assembly in an official capacity, with its Executive Director addressing the plenary.
- María Victoria Rivas (Paraguay) assumes the Presidency of the Board of Directors.
2022
- Nataly Ponce Chauca assumes the Executive Directorship of CEJA, becoming the first woman to hold this position.
- Development of the new CEJA Strategic Plan 2022–2026 , based on a broad participatory process in Latin America and the Caribbean.
