Catalina Fernández Carter
Catalina Fernández Carter is a lawyer from the University of Chile and holds a Master’s degree in International Law from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom (Whewell Scholarship in International Law).
Her areas of specialization include international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and international criminal law. She currently serves as Director of Human Rights at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile and as an Assistant Professor of International Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Chile, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses.
Previously, she has served at Chile’s Committee for the Prevention of Torture, as an advisor to the Chilean Constitutional Convention, as a consultant to the International Nuremberg Principles Academy, and as a Judicial Fellow at the International Court of Justice, working with H.E. Judge Antônio Cançado Trindade.
