José Suing Nagua

Dr. José Suing Nagua is an outstanding Ecuadorian jurist with a solid academic background. He holds a PhD in Law from the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, with studies in Tax Legislation, Economics and Decentralization.

With more than a decade of experience in the National Court of Justice, he has been judge and regular judge in several specialized chambers. Currently, as President (E) of the Court, he leads initiatives to strengthen the transparency and efficiency of the Ecuadorian judicial system.

In addition to his judicial work, he has advised international organizations such as the IDB and the German Technical Cooperation on public administration and decentralization. He is the author of works such as Derecho Municipal, awarded with the José María Velasco Ibarra award, and Gobiernos Autónomos Descentralizados. His commitment to education has led him to train new generations in public and tax law in national and international universities.
