{"id":6439,"date":"2021-10-19T12:05:22","date_gmt":"2021-10-19T15:05:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cejamericas.org\/?p=6439"},"modified":"2025-12-05T16:49:31","modified_gmt":"2025-12-05T16:49:31","slug":"eleven-teams-to-participate-in-the-v-and-vi-national-procedure-law-seedbed-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cejamericas.org\/en\/2021\/10\/19\/eleven-teams-to-participate-in-the-v-and-vi-national-procedure-law-seedbed-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Eleven teams to participate in the V and VI National Procedure Law Seedbed Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cejamericas.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/semilleros_nuevafecha-1024x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6440\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The first round will be held on August 5.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Eleven teams<\/strong> from various Chilean universities will participate in the first round of the <strong>V and VI National Procedure Law Seedbed Competitions<\/strong> on Thursday, August 5.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>main objective<\/strong> of the competition, which is organized by the <strong>Justice Studies Center of the Americas<\/strong>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/derecho.udp.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Universidad Diego Portales (UDP) Law School Procedure Law Department<\/strong><\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/redprocesal.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Chilean Procedure Law Research Network,<\/strong><\/a> is for law students to analyze, critique and propose approaches linked to the constituent process and justice administration in the wake of the pandemic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>JSCA Training Director Leonel Gonz\u00e1lez Postigo<\/strong> explains that the activity \u201cis an opportunity for students to critically rethink the national legal context and to put forth innovative proposals that contribute to discussions of judicial reform.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UDP Procedure Law Department Director Macarena Vargas<\/strong> notes that the competition is an initiative that \u201callows law students to conduct research and work with students from other courses. It also introduces them to an area that they don\u2019t have a lot of opportunities to explore as undergraduates.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She also notes that students must engage in other activities such as \u201cvolunteer work in their municipalities and neighborhoods. This strengthens their training and recognizes the fact that students have interests beyond studying and passing courses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For her part, <strong>Priscila Machado of the Chilean Procedure Law Research Network<\/strong>, notes that the VI National Procedure Law Seedbed Competition \u201cis very unique in that it encourages procedure law students to critically and analytically approach the field, allowing them to propose solutions in the areas of the legal sciences and justice administration. It also gives student a chance to develop soft skills such as communication, public speaking and teamwork.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Competition<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The competition will be held from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. local time.<\/strong> The winning teams<strong> will move on to the second round,<\/strong> which will be held on August 18.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The winning team and the second and third place groups will receive their awards at the III Annual Procedure Law Network Forum.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The top-ranked team will also present their work at the event, which will take place on August 19.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Register <a href=\"https:\/\/zoom.us\/webinar\/register\/WN_nRbrgIzqTBitL5xAxOoOYg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a> to view the first round of the competition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The first round will be held on August 5.
